Spicy-Sweet Pork


Dan was feeling creative the other night and decided to take what we had in the pantry and fridge and change around a recipe that he had found for spicy and sweet pork. We didn't have the raspberry preserves but we had strawberry. We had several varieties of  hot sauce and he decided to go with the raspberry jalepeno that we had in our fridge. He mixed all that together and what was created was pretty amazing - spicy, but amazing! Hope you enjoy! 


Spicy-Sweet Pork
  • 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon bottled minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon bottled minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
  • (1-pound) pork tenderloin, cut into thin slices
  • 1/3 cup salsa
  • 2 tablespoon strawberry preserves (use less if not using the hot sauce) 
  • 1 tablespoon jalepeno raspberry hot sauce (optional add-in) 
  • cilantro for garnish
  1. Combine first 3 ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Flatten each pork piece to 1/2-inch thickness using your fingertips. Add pork to pan; spoon soy sauce mixture evenly over pork slices. Cook 3 minutes or until browned. Turn pork over; cook 3 minutes or until done. Remove from pan.
  3. Add salsa, hot sauce, and preserves to pan; increase heat to medium-high. Cook 30 seconds or until slightly thick, stirring constantly. Serve pork with salsa mixture, and sprinkle with cilantro.

Served up with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans - so very yummy!  Dan modified the recipe from here
