While my team was in San Diego a couple weeks ago, we took a day and drove north to the really fun city of Los Angeles. While we could have spent hours trying to find famous people and their stars, we got straight to work learning about a great ministry in the city. We spent the afternoon touring the Dream Center, a ministry to the homeless and those struggling with addiction. I was quite impressed at the magnitude of that place. They can house up to 750 individuals in their facility. They work with men, women, families, and veterans. The lady that gave us our tour was actually living there with her children and working for the Center. The program is quite extensive and heavily focused on discipleship. They do community outreaches and give away thousands of pounds of food each week.
This wasn't my first trip to LA. I actually worked in the summer of 2003 with MFUGE camps and served at California Baptist University. My campers served in Riverside at a daycare facility. It was quite a precious place with sweet memories. I also enjoyed being introduced to the In & Out Burger joint and of course we had to stop in this trip too...
This morning I spent time praying for The Dream Center, MFuge Camps, and my team. I also spent time praying for the 750 beds which represent people who are desiring to change their life for the better.

Have you been to LA? How could you spend time praying for that fun city today?
