He wrote us a letter!

We introduced you to Eli, our Compassion Child from Tanzania, a few months back. Recently we got a letter from him that gave us fun new details about this precious boy and how we could better pray for him and be involved in his world, it also included a super cute picture that he drew - although we have NO idea what it is supposed to be!

Here are a few of the questions and answers we got from Eli.

  1. My name means: God of Happy
  2. I am the 3rd child in my family
  3. I am 96 centimeters tall
  4. I have black hair and black eyes
  5. One thing I really like to do is: eroplane  (We're assuming that means playing with airplanes)
  6. When I grow up, I want to be a: teacher

Our desire and hope is that through our Compassion International sponsorship each month and our prayers, Eli will grow up not only to be a teacher, but a teacher of God's word to those right there in Tanzania.

You can sponsor children around the world too and make a small difference in their lives!

our little guy, Eli - who will be sponsoring each month through Compassion International.

Eli seems like a fun little guy. He'll be 5 on September 29th. He lives with his mom in Tanzania and loves helping in the kitchen. I'm sure that Dan and I could learn a few yummy recipes from this little one. He has two other siblings and his mom works as a farmer. He also love playing hide and seek! So FUN!

Dan and I have been reading 7 by Jen Hatmaker. It's kinda turned our world upside down as we've been reminded how wealthy and skewed our priorities are here in our corner of the world. On top of that, our Life Group has been studying Radical by David Platt - geesh! Dan and I have been praying about what we need to do in response to these challenges and how God would use us to make a difference, even if it's small.  One of the ways is through the child sponsorship program, by praying for little Eli, writing him, and supporting him financially. It's not much - but for this little guy from Tanzania, it might just give him a chance at life, a chance that millions of children around the world may not ever have.

I can't wait to share about Eli as we write back and forth, pray, and support him.

You can support a child too through Compassion International
